Looking forward to sustaining its Autonomous University recognition by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), Saint Mary’s University has applied for an Institutional Accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU).
In close collaboration with the Vice President for Academic Affair’s (VPAA) Office, the Institutional Development and Quality Assurance Office (IDQAO) spearheaded the preparation and submission on January 30, 2017 of the University’s application documents. The organization of the report followed the accreditation criteria, namely: Government Recognition of Curricular Programs; Accreditation of Status of Programs; Student Enrolment in the Accredited Programs vis-à-vis Total Applicable Student Enrolment; Institutional Performance in Various Licensure Examinations; and Established Planning, Monitoring and Internal Quality Assurance Mechanisms in the University.
An Institutional Accreditation is an evaluation process that looks at the overall quality of the school, college or institution. It affirms that the school, college or institution operates with a high level of quality in all its aspects and shows that each of its parts namely, program of studies, faculty competencies, instructional standards, operational systems; financial and human resources; facilities among others, contribute to the achievement of the overall objectives of the institution.
